Optimal Learning Model

Research indicates that optimal learning is achieved when teachers use the Gradual Release of Responsibility model of instruction. It is recommended that all Hamilton County teachers employ this model as they plan for and deliver literacy instruction. It is important to remember that this model is not linear. Students move back and forth among each of the components as they master skills, strategies, and learning standards.
